We would also like to thank our Parish, PSF (parents of St. Francis), our SAC (school advisory committee), and all of our annual members of the Knights who own businesses throughout our council. Without these supporters, we could not do everything we do in the community. If you are interested in sponsoring an event or our annual newsletter, please click here and send us a form.
Chapter Meetings Every 2nd Monday - Each Month 6:30 PM.
Brother Knights, Greetings,

Dear Brothers and Families,
As we enter the heart of spring, I want to thank you all for your incredible efforts over the past month—and to apologize for combining April and May’s newsletters, but it’s been one of the busiest stretches I’ve seen, and your dedication has been nothing short of inspiring to me as a leader and all of our brothers.
This season has reminded me that everything we do is about building community. Whether we're serving food after Mass or helping with school processions, we are showing our neighbors-Catholic and non-Catholic alike-that the Knights of Columbus are here, active, and committed to good. These moments, big and small, create lasting bonds and open hearts.
I especially want to give a BIG year-long thanks to Sir Knights Brent Dattke and Pat Creedican, whose leadership and involvement continues to elevate Council 1872. Their work reminds us how much each of you contributes to our Church and community. Please join me in thanking them personally the next time you see them. This brings me to my next topic – “Our State Awards!”
As many of you know, we just had a very successful State Conference in Redmond last weekend and I want to point these out:
Agustin Hernandez received statewide recognition for his service to our Church, the Hispanic ministry, and the Knights of the Roundtable. While awarded individually, this honor reflects the collective efforts of all the Knights of the Roundtable. Well done, brothers!
Council 1872 was awarded the Three Star Council Award—a sign that we exceeded our membership goals threefold. Thank you to all who welcomed and supported our new brothers! We are still eligible for the Four Star if we can recruit 6 more by July 1.
Matthew Deppmeier, our Financial Secretary, was named Knight of the Year for Oregon. His exceptional commitment and professionalism are a cornerstone of our success. Congratulations, Matthew!
Finally, Council 1872 received the rare and prestigious title of Council of the Year—a direct result of your work across parish, school, family, and charitable service. You’ve made this council the best in Oregon. God bless each of you.
Looking ahead, I'm thrilled to announce an exciting initiative that will help grow that presence even more: the "Knights Hamburglar" trailer rolled out on the field for the first event - Precious Bird. Although the event was not as well attended as we hoped, we came out ahead and used the extras to feed the landscape volunteers the next day. We will be using it at a few more events this summer. This mobile food trailer is a bold step in increasing our visibility at community gatherings and parish celebrations. It's more than just a trailer-it's a symbol of service, of joy, and of the kind of ingenuity that our council is capable of.
Finally, I also want to mention that we raised $1100 for Grandma’s House over mother’s day. Thank you for giving out Roses at every mass. Going forward, please use the Website to sign up for events. It is helpful to you and us!. For the end of May – and this is a fun one – sign up for the poker night (May 31st) where we can have a little revel and continue to raise money for the chapter and school. The morning after, we still need more signups for burrito sales - June 1st.
I know many of us have been stretched thin-and I deeply appreciate your sacrifices. But let's finish this season strong. It's not just the hours or the labor-it's the brotherhood, the presence, and the prayer that shine through in everything we do. I am honored to serve alongside men who live out the values of charity, unity, and fraternity so fully. Our presence makes a difference, and I trust in our brotherhood to step up, as always. Thank you again for all that you do, and may God bless your families and your service.
Vivat Jesus
